for Children

A space where your child can be themselves

Why play?

Play is a central part of childhood development and a powerful way of exploring, expressing, processing, and making meaning. Through play, children can communicate and explore experiences, feelings, relationships, ideas, and possibilities in ways that are not limited to words.

Play can also be a way of processing and learning—trying things out, working through experiences, exploring possibilities, and developing ways of understanding and responding to the world around them. Through play and creative expression, children can externalize aspects of their experience, giving them something they can see, interact with, and explore.

How play therapy can help

Play gives children space to explore experiences through metaphor, imagination, and story, without needing to talk directly about what is difficult. They may create characters, build worlds, act out stories, or explore possibilities through play.

In non-directive, child-led play therapy, the child chooses what to play and how the play unfolds. I follow their lead while staying attentive to what I notice—changes in energy, movement, emotion, connection, and the ways they are communicating through play. I respond with attunement, pacing, reflection, and co-regulation, supporting what is emerging without directing the child toward a particular interpretation or outcome.

This creates space for children to explore, process, experiment, and make meaning in their own way and at their own pace.

Working Together

Depending on what feels most supportive, you may join your child in a session, have a session of your own, or connect with me around your child’s therapy. We can work together to understand your child’s experiences and support connection and regulation at home.

Fees & appointments

Child sessions are 50 minutes and $160. Appointments are available after school and on alternating weekends.

Please reach out to inquire about current availability.
